All payments are made using secure encryption to ensure the safety and privacy of customer data. Web browsers which use SSL (secure sockets layer) technologies which are considered insecure (e.g older versions of internet explorer) may not be able to complete checkout successfully. We recommend using a TLS (Transport Layer Security) enabled web browser such as a recent version of Google Chrome.
Our usual method of accepting payment is by credit or debit payment card or Paypal. Payments are accepted either through our website or by telephone. Please note that we cannot accept telephone payments from overseas customers, orders must be completed and successfully authenticated online. In some circumstances we may require payment by bank transfer, this applies especially to higher value International orders.
We use a 'deferred' method of card payment authentication via our online payment processor, Opayo (formerly SagePay/Protx), and a similar method of pre authorisation for Paypal payments. This means that your details will be checked for security and available funds at the time you place your order but your account will only be charged once we have manually accepted the transaction and confirmed that your order is ready for despatch.
We are able to accept payment for most orders via Paypal. Please note that Paypal is not always able to confirm the legitimacy of a transaction, in which case an alternative payment method may be required. Additionally, we are only able to despatch to your registered and verified Paypal address, use of an alternative delivery address may result in orders being rejected.
In certain circumstances, and by mutual arrangement, we are able to accept payment by direct transfer to our bank account, this is our preferred method for higher value orders. There are not normally any charges associated with payments from UK banks to our UK bank account, goods will be despatched once payment has been received. International bank transfers must be made in pounds sterling (GBP) and there is normally a charge levied by the sending bank as well as the receiving bank. When making an International bank transfer you must accept responsibility for all associated bank charges, including those made by our (receiving) bank, the total cost of your order is calculated on the basis of your accepting liability for the bank charges.
