This set incorporates an automatic centre punch together with a 8mm HSS drill bit, which features a spring-loaded guide pin, and is designed to drill out or cut through spot-welds allowing for the weld to be broken and the welded panels taken apart. The centre punch is used to make an indent at the centre of the spot-weld, before offering up the drill bit to the weld. The guide pin then sits in the indent and keeps the drill bit steady and centralised as it drills through the spot-weld.
- Designed to drill out spot welds using air powered or electric drills.
- The spot weld drill allows the top layer of the weld to be 'machined' away in a controlled manner leaving the second skin intact ready for the new panel to be fitted.
- 8mm HSS drill bit with integral spring loaded centre point.
- Automatic centre punch to create indent at centre of spot weld. The automatic centre punch does not require the use of a hammer so reducing the chance of deforming surrounding panel work.
- Always wear eye protection.
